Building Entrepreneurship through Support

Entrepreneurs are individuals who decide to create their own business. The United States strives to encourage creative entrepreneurs and provide them with the resources needed to makes their goals a reality. The White House and President Barack Obama promote this effort every November through the declaration of National Entrepreneurship Month.
In his address on Oct. 31, President Obama said, “Our country seeks to empower a rising generation of talented and striving innovators and to ensure they have opportunities to pursue their aspirations and take the risks that make America great.” This movement can also include international students in the United States. If you are interested in international education or entrepreneurship, check out these programs:
- Presidential Ambassadors for Global Entrepreneurship (PAGE): The PAGE program is a collaboration between the White House, entrepreneurs, the U.S. Department of Commerce, U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Agency for International Development partners. The goal of the program is to share knowledge with the next generation of entrepreneurs around the world.
- Global Entrepreneurship Summit: The Global Entrepreneurship Summit will take place during Global Entrepreneurship Week. This year’s summit will focus on the power of technology and the positive impact that technology has on innovation and entrepreneurship.
