Be Informed About National Preparedness
Each September, the U.S. government celebrates National Preparedness Month. This celebration serves as a reminder to individuals to prepare and be safe in case of an emergency. Natural disasters and severe weather can happen anywhere in the United States. If one of these emergencies occur, it is important for you to be prepared to respond in order to protect yourself.
Check with your designated school official for details about your campus’ emergency response plan. Also, check out the following U.S. government agencies for helpful resources for preparing for an emergency:
- Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)
