I-901 SEVIS Fee Payment Checklist
Once you are accepted to a Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP)-certified school, you must pay the I-901 Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) Fee. Paying the I-901 SEVIS Fee is the first step to studying in the United States. You must complete this step before applying for a visa from the U.S. Department of State to enter the country. To make sure you properly complete the I-901 SEVIS Fee payment process, use the following checklist:
- Pay the fee: If your country of citizenship or country of birth is Cameroon, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, or Gambia, you must pay by money order, Western Union Quick Pay, or by certified check drawn from a U.S. financial institution. Other students can pay by credit card at FMJFee.com.
- Print your receipt: Once your payment has processed, you must print your payment confirmation from FMJFee.com to use as your receipt and proof of payment. The confirmation page can be printed at any time after your payment has been processed.
- Carry your receipt: You must bring the I-901 SEVIS Fee payment receipt to your visa appointment. You must also have your receipt with you when you travel to the United States.
