Student to Student: Studying in the States

October 24, 2012

If you are a prospective or current international student studying in the United States, you probably have a lot of questions about what to expect and how to stay compliant with Department of Homeland Security (DHS) rules and regulations. We are excited to announce a new video that you can share with other students, your friends and family that highlights key aspects of the F and M student process. In Student to Student: Studying in the States, real international students tell you what to expect.

Priyadarshini from India and Geoffrey from Kenya are current F students who know all the great benefits of an education in the United States. They tell you how to work with various U.S. government agencies during the course of your experience in the United States.

Yelena from Russia shows you the experience of arriving in the United States at the port of entry. Later, international students Victoria from Kazakhstan and Mila from Ecuador offer advice on maintaining your status during your studies. Student to Student also provides this information:

  • Finding a Student and Exchange Visitor Program-certified school to attend
  • Key tips on how to enter the United States successfully
  • How to explore possible post-graduate opportunities in the United States

All international students are required to understand and follow immigration rules. The launch of this video supports DHS’s larger effort to communicate government coordinated news and resources to help international students and school officials.

Additional videos and resources will be available in the near future. Until then, share this video with your fellow F and M students, friends and family. Use Twitter and Facebook to let us know what you think of the video.

You can also share the video on Youtube.
